What's up with liking a kid who likes your friend? I've had this happen to me more than once. The first time was in 3rd grade. I had a fatty crush on this kid who had a fatty crush on my friend. My friend had no interest in him at all, but he had no interest in me either.
This has once again happened to me. I like this kid who sometimes leads me on, but in reality he likes my friend. What's up with that? Are there any good boys out there? I realize that that sounds like I'm looking for my soul mate, but I'm not. It's just every boy I seem to like turns out bad. I feel like boys like to lead me on. I guess it's a fun time.
This kid and I have been texting a lot and he was telling me about this date he was planning, but didn't know who to go with. He was acting like he was going to ask me. He later told me that his friend couldn't double with him anymore so the date was canceled. Friday night comes around and at about 11:30 I get a text saying..."I love being a boy." When I ask him why he tells me that he just went on a date. When I ask with who he says my friend. AWESOME! I feel so dumb. He's totally rubbing it in my face. Who does that? Not really ok with me. He totally led me on by making me believe that he was going to ask me on this date. When I've been on one date where a guy has asked me and it sucked I was looking forward to going on a good date. No! Why would that happen to me?
I feel like I am always the third one in the little "love triangle." I'm sick of it, but there isn't a whole lot I can do about it. So I guess for now I can be the friend to the girl he likes.
It's official....I LOVE High School. Today was a very great day. It started out a little rough, but it progressed. What really made the day GREAT was Sculpture. I love that class. I love all the people in it. It's a very fun class. Yes, I get made fun of a lot, but there's something about that class that I love.
Last week we finished our GIANT and when I say giant I mean 6 feet tall mustard bottle. It was quite the sight.
This class......I can't even explain it. I look forward to it every other day. When I thought that class couldn't get any better it did. Today we had to watch a boring movie. After the movie our teacher sent us into the hall to get "inspiration" for our next project which is Environmental Art. Ofcourse none of us were getting "inspiration" so we just goofed out. Drew began by taping me on the wall.....
"Hey! Ya, Drew that hurts!"
"Wait what? Go on the pole? Great idea!"
Sometimes I hang out on poles. Not a big deal!
Don't worry people I am not going to be pursuing a Pole Dancing career anytime soon. I was just hanging out. When the teacher came she wasn't too happy. She was worried about loosing her job. Sorry Ms. Dowling. I wouldn't have ever let her get fired. I did it on my free will. It wasn't her fault. I would have taken all the blame for it. It was so much fun! We were all laughing so hard. There were at least 10 people sitting there taking pictures with their phones. Welcome to being small. This is what happens to you.
This is what High School is all about. This was a movie scene. PERFECT! I don't know how I feel about the school year ending. It is days like today that I will miss. I guess I will cherish my last week and a half of school, because today was GREAT!
Holding hands in the hall, kissing on the forehead, pretending to be mad for attention, and worst of all giving each other a tongue bath. I have declared fourth term REISTY COUPLE TERM! They are everywhere. I can't think of even one cute couple at our school. They are all reisty. Every single one of them. Yes, I have pictures of some of these reisty couples but, no I will not be the one to expose their nastiness.
Sure, there have been couples throughout the whole year, but fourth term it has greatly increased. Why would you want a boyfriend/girlfriend the last term of school? It doesn't make sense to me. Is it going to carry on into the Summer? Probably not.
One thing I've noticed with couples is that a lot of the Seniors are going for the Sophomores. I have a theory behind this....They have to go for people younger than them, because people their own age know how they really are. What are they going to do after graduation? Sophomores will be Juniors next year and the Seniors will hopefully have enough of a life to find someone out of High School. I realize that being 2 years older than someone isn't a big deal. It really isn't in High School, but Seniors that believe they are going to get married to their Sophomore girlfriend/boyfriend have another thing coming. Don't get me wrong everyone knows I have liked a few Seniors in my day, but in reality it's not always going to work out.
Like always I am going to reefer to movies/T.V.shows. Every movie that has to deal with High School has a "cute couple." A couple that everyone else wishes they could be.
That is not the situation at Pleasant Grove High School. Reisty couples are only funny for so long, after a while they just gets nauseating. No one wants to see you give your girlfriend a tongue bath, so please if you are going to be a reisty couple go do it somewhere else.
My mom is: my best friend, amazing, kind, giving, loving, and I know she would do anything for me. My mom and I have an ideal mother/daughter relationship. I can tell her anything. She is there when I need a listening ear or when I need someone to hold me and tell me everything will be ok. I know that no matter what my mom is always there for me.
My mom is the strongest person I know. I look up to her in so many ways. I strive to be like her. I love knowing that my mom is always going to be there. Through the good and the bad. My mom is a truly amazing person. Whenever I read this poem I think of her:
To My Teenager
It’s hard sometimes, when people are changing their lives,
To understand each other, or even to talk.
You are struggling right now for independence
And the right to live your own way. . .
And sometimes struggle for the strength to let you do it.
I wish now and then for the days when a kiss or a hug
Could make your world bright again;
But your world is more difficult now,
And you want to make your own
Way in it-which is as it should be.
I want you to know that when you get hurt,
I will hurt for you;
And that deep down, I always have confidence
In your ability to find your place in your world.
When you need a caring hear,
Or someone to listen to your deepest dreams or concerns,
I will be there for you because I love and care for you.

So today on this Mother's day I honor my mom. Thank you for all you do for Ellie and I. Love you to the moon and back!!
The rumor mill. How a story can go from being so innocent to a much bigger deal. Pretty soon there is barely any glimpse of truth in any of the stories. Who's with who, what they've done, who's pregnant, and who's on drugs. There has to be at least one good rumor every week or it wouldn't be High School.
I have been fortunate enough to be in the school rumor mill this last week. My rumor has progressively gotten worse over the weeks. Something so innocent happened over Spring Break and now it's the talk of the school. People that really know me know that this dumb rumor would never be true. The rumor about me was exactly like this movie:
If you haven't seen this movie the story line is about this girl who is rumored to be a total slut. When in reality she hasn't done anything at all. She is only saying she slept with people. Yes, she probably brought this on herself, but I didn't. I didn't start this crazy rumor about me. Why would I want to ruin my "flawless reputation?"
The other kid involved in this rumor is mad, as he should be. He thinks that I helped start this bizarre rumor. He doesn't want to be known as this boy that, "gets down" with anyone and everyone. Nor do I want to be known in the same way. I totally understand where he's coming from. I'm not saying that it's affecting me more, but I feel like it is. I am now known as the new "school slut." Not so awesome and completely false.
This goes to show how dumb the High School rumor mill is. People really do believe anything. Whoever starts these rumors must really have something to hide. They start something so that they won't be the target.
I am writing this post to put the rumor to rest. So if you hear anything around school just know that's it's completely not true.
- Staying up till all hours of the night.
- Being exhausted
- Waking up at 4 to make sure you're at school by 5:30
- Meeting new people
- Bounding with friends
- Lots of hard work
- Stressful
- Worth it!
I tried out for Student Council this year. I was going for events. It was a long process. Making posters was a little bit of a challenge. Max's mom and sister helped me trace it and I painted it. One of them turned out really good, and the other one....after I painted it I basically ruined it. Nancy like always came to my rescue and helped me. Shawn and Nancy stayed up till 12:30 a.m. helping me make my "handouts." Nancy is so creative. We got bottle caps and inside them there were little papers that said, "PG WANTS Z!" We than turned them into necklaces. It took F-O-R-E-V-E-R! People loved them though.
Working hard
Max wanted to do something unique so he bought 80 gold fish and handed them out. People were running to the student center to get them before they were all gone. It sure got his name out there. Kaydee and I got one and we couldn't think of a name....Pax (Paxton) came to our rescue. The fish was named Rosco. Poor Wittle baby Rosco died between Seminary and the car. Kaydee broke the bad news to me. He may have had a short life, but it was greatly lived. He was surrounded by people who loved him.
We got split into groups to preform skits in front of the school. I loved my group. I got to meet new people and I really bonded with each and everyone of them.
Lauren Miner was basically the mother of our group. She is the cutest girl I know. She makes me want to be a better person. She came up with the idea to do a glow stick dance. I could write an entire blog post on her. I want to put her in my pocket for a rainy day. A little creepy, yes. I love her so much! We did it to the FINAL COUNTDOWN and THE TIME! She did AMAZING! She and Carly choreographed it. It was the coolest thing when it was complete. It took a lot of time and practice, but it was all worth it in the end. We really bonded as a group.
The video isn't high quality, but it really was amazing when we finished it.
After a very long week Friday rolled around and it was time for the election stomp. Before we went to the stomp everyone that ran for student council went to dinner. It was kind of a "goodbye" in a way. It didn't matter about our groups, or who was going to win. It was just a time for us to all be together. Time that was clearly needed.
LOVE LAUREN MINER!
We go to the stomp and as it got closer to 10:30 I started getting major butterflies. Good thing there was music so I could get my wiggles out. A little after 10:30 it was time. Everyone who was running stood together holding hands. They told us who the Sophmore class officers were. They then went onto Jr. Class.....Max was going for Jr Class. Up on the screen there was Max's, Maddie Giles, and Katy Armknecht pictures. I was very happy for Max. When they were about to announce EVENTS I was freaking out. I saw four pictures pop up on the screen. My picture wasn't there. To be honest, I was shocked. All I remember was seeing Mattie's picture. I started crying. I was so happy for Mattie, but a little disappointed that I didn't make it. Why Mattie and I were running for the same thing I don't know. We both thought we had it. All I was worried about than is if Lauren Miner would make it. She deserved it more than anyone I could think of. Don't worry she made it. Then came time for VP and PRESIDENT:
VICE PRESIDENT- NATE CUTLER
NATE CHAMPION CHURCH- STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT
So although I didn't make it I wouldn't change it for the world. I am so happy for everyone that made it. Congrats guys! You will all do GREAT thing. Thanks for letting me get to know you guys! We'll try again next year!
Why? It's the word that keeps entering my mind. It's one of those words that is in some ways said to much. If your mom asks you to do the dishes the reply is always, "Why?" Lately I've been wondering, "Why me?" That phrase is something that enters everyones mind sometime in life. People wonder "why me" when times get hard and are often time to hard for them to bare. This phrase often makes you feel sorry for yourself. You may not wish it on anyone, but you can't help but ask why? The problem with the word "why" is you never really know the answer. Going back to your mom asking you to do the dishes when you answer, "why me?" The answer is always, "Because I said." If you want to really push it you will then ask, "Well why me and not (insert name here)?" Even then your mom isn't going to have a good answer. The word "why" can keep going forever.
Some days I feel like this:
With everything that has been going on in my life I often ask, Why? Why do I have to put up with this? A couple weeks ago I tried out for Student Council. I thought I had it. I really did. When I looked up at the screen and my name wasn't there and all my friends were I was distraught. Why? My home life sucks. Why can't one good thing happen? Just one. Student Council isn't the only thing I've been wondering about. Here are some of my recent, "Whys?"
- Why doesn't he love me enough to give me what I need?
- Why do I have to take on so much?
- Why can't I do anything to make him proud?
- Why do things have to be this way?
- Why don't people step up?
- Why do people sit back and let this happen?
- Why does everyone feel like they have to impress everyone all the time?
- Why am I always anxious?
- WHY ME?
The thing is I don't know the answer to these questions. I doubt I ever really will. I guess there is really only one thing I can do, KEEP GOING! Take one step, one hour, one day at a time. I CAN do this!
